RangersTV Help - Logging In
This is the help page for issues with Logging In. Our general Help page is here.
There is a useful topic list on the right hand side.

Logging In, Registering, Subscribing
Logging in is the term we use for getting access to content - it means typing in your username and password. You can do this when you visit the site by clicking "Login or Register" at the top right of the screen.

Alternatively, click on on of our programme links and you will automatically be directed through log in.
Registering is our process of signing up. You fill a form telling us a bit about yourself and choosing a username and password. You only have to do this once: you may see links to registration during the log in process, but if you've already registered, you don't need to click on those.
Subscribing means buying access to programmes either annually or weekly.
Some people never subscribe and just buy programmes and matches on an individual basis. Subscription gives you a better value package if you are a regular user.
Getting It Right
First of all, make sure you're on the right site - although we have used rangerslive.tv and rangersfc.tv in the past, the most reliable entry point is rangerstv.tv
It's really important you type the username and the password exactly as they are shown in your registration email - no spaces, and capital letters where capital letters are specified.
If it's John32 then john32 won't work
If it's John32 then John 32 won't work
Look out for copying and pasting eg.from an email - it's very common for a space to be added at to the end when you copy a word. It is much safer to type it in.
Modern browsers (and some plug-ins) offer you the ability to save passwords so that you don't have to enter them each time you visit a site. This can cause problems if an incorrect password has been saved and gets auto-filled. You can delete saved passwords in your settings (in Firefox, check Preferences > Securit y> Passwords) or, sometimes, clearing History.
For your own protection, and because users have said they want this, we hide your password when you type it. It appears as a series of blobs.
If you would like to see what you are typing, you can go to this visible version.
Why won't it log me in?
In order to use our log in, you need to enable Cookies on your browser.
To enable cookies on Firefox, go to Preferences > Privacy > then "Remember history" (or use custom settings)
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > then set to "Accept" or "Always allow session cookies"
Other browsers have similar settings.
There are all sorts of software add-ons (some you may not even know you have!) which prevent access to sites.
Some firewalls can prevent the secure communication needed for logging in.
You may also experience difficulties if you are using a proxy connection eg. one provided by your work.
People have sometimes contacted us to say they can't log in when our records show they have successfully logged in. This can be due to something called caching, where your computer, or your network serves you an old version of the page in order to be faster. Or you might not have cookies enabled.
Am I Logged In?
Try viewing a programme, or exploring the site. You might find you are already logged in, and the page has not updated to tell you this? (Computers and networks often use something called caching, which serves you an old version of the page in order to be faster)
Some users have registered more than once, have several usernames. If this is the case, your browser may have confusing log in information stored. (If you do have more than one username, please get in touch with support and we can help sort this out)
The best way to be sure is to visit the log out page and start afresh
If you continue to have trouble, consider switching to a different browser (eg. Firefox if you're using Internet Explorer) - some users have reported this made a difference.
Can I Change my Password
Yes.
Go to your Account Page and click the link at the right.
What is my username and/or password
We can send you a reminder email if you visit the lost password page.
This will be sent (immediately) to the email address you gave us when you registered.
(If you have several accounts, you will receive an email for every account that uses this email address)
See below if nothing arrived.
I tried to get my password and nothing arrived
Check your email inbox is not full.
Check the mail has not landed in your Spam or Junk folder - this occasionally happens with automatically generated mail. If you know how, you should whitelist support@rangerstv.tv so that all mails will be trusted.
It's possible you mistyped your email address when you first registered. Contact support if you'd like us to check.
Or do you have another email address you might have used when you registered.
Have you changed address? Some people's email address has changed because their service has changed (for example googlemail may have changed to gmail, or hotmail.co.uk may have changed to hotmail.com)
Why am I asked to log in again?
When you log in, you are given fixed time access to the site - we can't keep it open indefinitely. If, for example, you leave your computer on overnight, you'd expect to be asked to log in again when you try to use the site.
Whereas banks, for example, typically shut you out after only 15 minutes, we deliberately give people a long time (a couple of hours) so that whole match programmes can be viewed.
You will never be asked to log in during a video, so you can watch assured it won't be interrupted. (Switching between parts, you may be asked to log in again.)
